Group Guitar Lessons

Terms & Conditions

hereinafter referred to as ‘The Teacher’

The parent or guardian of the participant of the group guitar lessons will hereinafter be referred to as ‘The Parent’.
The child participating in the lessons will hereinafter be referred to as ‘The Student’.

Enrolment in the group lessons is arranged on a rolling basis; once a child is enrolled in the lessons, they will continue to be enlisted in the following terms’ lessons, unless the teacher is provided with notice that they wish to stop.

For instance, if a parent wished for their child to stop lessons after the April-May term, they would need to notify the teacher by the last lesson on Wednesday 21st May.

It is agreed:

1.1 The teacher will provide group lessons for the dates specified in email communication.

1.2 The lessons will take place in the Large Meeting Room, upstairs at the Queen Elizabeth Park Baptist Church & Community Centre, Railton Rd, Guildford GU2 9LX.

1.3 The fee will vary depending on the number of weeks in each term. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice from the teacher and is payable in advance of the lessons commencing.

a) The fee is non-refundable and the full fee is payable regardless of how many lessons the student is able to attend.

b) Where the student is unable to attend a lesson, the teacher will make a reasonable attempt to provide details of what was covered in the lesson and provide digital copies of any music.

2. General

2.1 The Student and Parent are responsible for attending the arranged lessons as confirmed by the Teacher, at the arranged time. Delays or interruptions (for which the Student and Parent are responsible) encroaching into this time will be considered as time provided.

2.2 Should a lesson be missed by the Teacher for whatever reason, the Teacher will either provide a replacement lesson at an agreed time or issue a credit note.

2.3 The Parent is responsible for informing the Teacher of any medical condition(s) which may affect the learning experience and interaction of the Student.

2.4 The Parent and Teacher agree to comply with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations including in relation to confidentiality, privacy, and GDPR.

2.5 Extra lessons may be scheduled at any other time by mutual agreement and at a cost agreed between the Parent and Teacher.

3. Space and Equipment

3.1 Materials supplied electronically by the Teacher remain the Intellectual Property of the Teacher.

3.2 The Parent is responsible for the insurance of all instrumental equipment used by the Student.

3.3 Any damage to the teachers equipment during the lessons, due to misuse by the Student will be the responsibility of The Parent.

3.4 Any damage to equipment owned by Queen Elizabeth Park Centre, due to misuse by the student will be the responsibility of the parent.

5. Safeguarding

5.1 The Teacher holds a current DBS certificate. The teacher recognises the importance of safeguarding and their responsibility to ensure the safety of young people. They agree to comply with the Musician Union’s safeguarding advice in relation to instrumental group music teaching. Current advice is available on the MU’s website.
